Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry was special vs. the Sacramento Kings
The Golden State Warriors defeated the Sacramento Kings on Friday night, and they did it behind a 41-point performance from superstar point guard Steph Curry. With his 41 points, Curry tied Kobe Bryant, Dirk Nowitzki, and Alex English for 6th all-time in 40-point games by a player at least 35 years old.
Having turned 35 in March of this year, Curry is about to start seeing his name pop up on a lot of these lists. For the Warriors star, this was his second 40-point game since turning 35, and he will likely have several more between now and the time he retires. Now tied with Bryant, Nowitzki, and English, Curry trails only Karl Malone, Elgin Baylor, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, LeBron James, and Michael Jordan on this list.
Jordan leads the way with 12 40-point games after turning 35, and LeBron is next with 10. Looking as good as ever, Curry will likely add at least a few more this season, which could easily put him 3rd all-time on this list by season's end, as Abdul-Jabbar's four such games are currently 3rd all-time.
There are countless statistical measures that illuminate Curry's greatness, and his ability to remain dominant at this age is just one of them. More important than any statistical lists for Curry is winning games, which the Warriors did on Friday night in Sacramento.Steve Kerr Gets Brutally Honest About Warriors vs. Lakers
