Ram will embrace electrification as the 1500 REV will be joined by three other eco-friendly pickups
Stellantis is looking to grow its commercial vehicle business thanks to a new strategic offensive known as Pro One. The company noted they sell 1.6 million commercial vehicles annually and they’re important to the bottom line as they account for one-third of Stellantis’ net revenues. That’s a sizable chunk and the company wants to double their commercial vehicle net revenues by 2030. In order to achieve that goal, the automaker will embrace electrification and launch an assortment of new models.
The Ram ProMaster EV will be unveiled later this year, while there will be “four electrified pickup trucks over the next two years” as part of a North American offensive. The company didn’t go into many specifics, but said models will include the Ram 1500 REV as well as a “new hydrogen solution to come.” The other two models are more mysterious, but one might be the previously announced Ram 1500 REV XR, which has a range-extending engine.
