The first week of Pittsburgh Steelers training camp is over, and some of the team's rookies are on the rise.

While he had a false start on Sunday, Fautanu continues to showcase his polished and take the steps forward he will need to if he wants to win the starting job at right tackle.This is a bit loose as McCormick has not struggled in pass protection or run blocking, but he has two false starts and some rookie miscues. That can happen for the fourth-rounder, but McCormick’s progress is something to watch over the next few weeks, especially since those mental mistakes are so prevalent on the offense.
Meanwhile, Bishop was running as the first-team slot cornerback on the first day of training camp. Remember, this is an undrafted free agent. Either way, Bishop has plus ball skills and is stickier in coverage than his reputation says in the slot. He is the favorite to win that job, especially after the SIf Wilson is a big winner, the rest of the wide receiver room is probably falling into the loser bucket.
As someone who came into the summer on the roster bubble, Leal is not only playing himself firmly onto the team but also starting to play as the light might just be going on for him in a critical third year.This group has not grabbed hold of the opportunity and run with it. Jaylen Warren and Najee Harris are not getting many reps since the Steelers want to limit their wear and tear. Cordarrelle Patterson is sidelined with a hamstring injury.
