The Pittsburgh Steelers face the Cincinnati Bengals in their final regular season game with a lot on the line. The Steelers are fighting for their playoff lives and need a win, along with losses from the Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos. The team's success hinges on quarterback Russell Wilson having a strong performance after struggling in recent weeks.

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris carries the football during an NFL game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2024, at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati. The Steelers will host the Cincinnati Bengals at Acrisure Stadium in their final regular season game. After losing three straight games and reeling, the team has set out a goal to win this game to get the stench of that losing streak off them. The Steelers are playing for their season.

Not only did they need this win, but they need the Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos to lose in order to make the postseason. Either way, the first step in the Bengals' march has to come with a win on Saturday night. Usually, I put a position group here, but in this one, I am singling out one player. Russell Wilson needs to have a bounce-back game not only for the Steelers to win this one, but for the team to make noise in the next few weeks. Over the last three weeks, Wilson ranks bottom five in just about every meaningful metric, but the bad sacks combined with the crippling turnovers are really what is holding the Steelers back. This offense does not give them that much room for error, so Wilson setting them back with so much negativity continues to be a massive issue for this group. He torched the Bengals last time out, however, and this needs to be another display of his ability to do that. The Steelers try to match the Bengals with more man coverage than zone coverage this time around. For one, it will help the communication issues that we have been talking about for weeks, and the Steelers have to sort those out before they head into the postseason. More importantly, the Steelers actually did extremely well in man-to-man last time they played the Bengals. It was their zone coverages that left them exposed to Joe Burrow and the Bengals' aerial attack
