WSP is actively seeking information regarding a metal beam that was thrown from an overpass onto I-5 in Lynnwood Tuesday morning, striking a driver's vehicle.

The Washington State Patrol is seeking information regarding a metal beam that was thrown from an overpass onto I-5 in Lynnwood Tuesday morning, striking a driver's vehicle.According to WSP, an unknown man was seen on the 164th St. SW overpass throwing debris onto I-5 .
The steel beam proceeded to pierce through the front windshield and came to rest in the front passenger area of the SUV just narrowly missing the driver, WSP said. The driver was the only one inside the SUV and he was not seriously injured, though he was taken to the hospital as a precaution according to WSP.
It's unclear where the beam came from as there are no nearby construction sites in that area. WSP investigators are currently following up on leads and hoping more witnesses come forward who can provide more information on the suspect. So far no suspect description has been provided. WSP troopers are asking witnesses of the collision or anyone who observed the pedestrian throwing debris to call 654-1144.
