With the kickoff of SXSW Friday, the streets of downtown Austin will be swarming with people and events for the next 10 days. In the midst of enjoying new exhibitions, concerts and speakers, here are a few tips to remember to stay safe while having fun.
Be aware of your surroundings. Know where you are. Look at street signs and buildings.
Travel in pairs or groups and designate a meeting point or let others know where you’ll be in case you get separated.Carry details of allergies or medication on you. Look out for others. If someone looks ill or needs help, contact venue staff or security or medical personnel.Recognize at least two exit routes when you enter a venue.Do not carry unnecessary valuable items with you. It is recommended you bring small or clear bags that only carry your essentials.
