Below is a statement sent on behalf of Tam Truong, a candidate for San Jose City Council District 8, on“This single-count complaint filed by the District Attorney’s Office represents nothing more than an allegation. It is based on a misunderstanding of all the facts in this case. This matter has been settled through a civil proceeding, which is the appropriate venue. There is no evidence that I intended to mislead anyone.
“I have an impeccable record of public service, and an unwavering commitment to justice. As someone who immigrated to this county from Vietnam at a young age, I believe in the rule of law and in our justice system. I am grateful for the overwhelming support from colleagues and members of the community who know me for my integrity and the strength of my character.
“I trust that the justice system that I have spent decades serving will work as it should and that I will be cleared of any wrongdoing. I have not committed a crime, and I plan to continue with my campaign.”Miss Manners: That was how I learned I wasn't invited to the weddingAsking Eric: I don't think my wife is doing shotgun rightDear Abby: She sabotages our family holiday with her phony dramaMap: Davis Fire between Reno and Mt.
