Gov. Phil Murphy is putting state office workers back on a hybrid work schedule due to rising COVID-19 cases in the state as a union representing them petitioned to get them out of the office.

“In order to reduce the number of individuals in office settings at any one time, promote social distancing, and safeguard the health and safety of state employees following the holidays, state employees will report to offices on a hybrid basis through
