A review of the footage from the patrol vehicle Trooper Austin James Burney was driving on Nov. 27 shows he was swerving within in his lane and repeatedly crossed the double yellow line, according to charging documents.

In charging documents filed against Burney, Troop C Patrol Unit Supervisor Cpl. Nicholas Wissinger wrote that he arrived at the Lewis Run barracks for the 3-11 p.m. shift on Nov. 27, and was told that a trooper had concerns about a colleague. At 3:30 p.m., Wissinger found Burney on Gallup Avenue in the borough and asked him about any alcohol consumption before work. According to the affidavit, Burney denied the allegation, but Wissinger wrote that he observed his eyes glazed over and with some redness.
