PORT DICKSON: Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has refuted claims of disharmony in Barisan Nasional following Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's upcoming meeting with MIC.
The Barisan chairman said Anwar usually met with component parties of the unity government, adding there was nothing unusual about the meeting with MIC on Wednesday .
The Deputy Prime Minister was commenting on Anwar's upcoming meeting with MIC, which was believed to be connected to allegations by the party of being sidelined by Umno during seat negotiations for the state polls. "We held a 'war room' meeting with representatives from MCA and MIC, and they confirmed that they had mobilised their entire machinery in the six states," he added.
He said the results of the state elections in the six states would not affect the Federal Government's dynamics.
