SEREMBAN: PAS has clarified that its candidate for the Bahau seat is not a chairman of a tahfiz centre but a funder, says Negri Sembilan party chief Rafiei Mustapha.
He said there could have been a mistake when the profile of the 54-year-old candidate P.M. Kumar, who is state DHPP deputy chief, was prepared which stated that he was chairman of the centre.
Rafiei, who is contesting the Pilah seat on the Perikatan Nasional ticket, said Kumar was actually funding an al-Quran tahfiz centre in Sabah. "The candidate's profile should have been vetted by the war room first and then sent to be verified by the team in the information section before it was shared on any platform. This process was probably not followed," he said, adding that due to this, certain parties have begun attacking PAS and Perikatan.
