Coroner says he will be unable to determine the cause of death until he gets the results of toxicology tests.

MUNCY - State police have confirmed they are investigating the death of an infant in Lycoming County on Friday.

They have not released any further information about the death of the 3-month-old boy in Muncy, including how they are classifying their investigation. An autopsy was conducted Monday but Coroner Charles E. Kiessling Jr. said he will need the results of toxicology tests before determining the cause of death. The results likely will not be received for 10 to 12 weeks, he said.

The infant was pronounced dead at 3:45 a.m. Friday, he said. State police obtained a search warrant related to the case but the affidavit is not public. If you purchase a product or register for an account through one of the links on our site, we may receive compensation.
