State lawmakers will hold a press conference Friday morning at 10 to address the recent mass shooting at Tuskegee University.
Representatives Pebblin Warren, a member of the Tuskegee University Board of Trustees, and Rolanda Hollis, a graduate of Tuskegee University, spoke at the event.
“As a member of the Tuskegee University Board of Trustees, it is our responsibility to ensure quality academic education and a safe environment for our students,” said Pebblin. Representatives spoke of grief, community, healing, enhanced security for Tuskegee university, and more gun laws on the state level to prevent further tragedy.

He was in possession of a handgun modified with a “Glock Switch” attachments that turned the handgun into an assault weapon.“We know that laws are not going to stop every act of gun violence, but we know that we were elected to take action,” said Ensler.
Rep. Ensler reintroduced the bill in September of this year. In it’s current form, the bill would make having a glock switch a class-C felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $15,000 fine.Next legislative session begins Feb. 3, 2025.
