The Cuyahoga Land Bank was approved for just under $9.5 million in grant funding for 428 properties. Most of them are in Cleveland.

COLUMBUS, Ohio - More than 800 buildings in Ohio, including 375 in Cleveland, will be demolished using state funding.

The governor’s office announced Friday that 825 blighted and vacant structures across 30 counties would be demolished with funds from the Ohio Building Demolition and Site Revitalization Program. The program’s goal is to help spur economic development by tearing down dilapidated commercial and residential buildings.

“There are sites all over Ohio that are perfect for redevelopment, but the cost to demolish the crumbling structures on these properties is standing in the way of new economic opportunities,” Gov. Mike DeWine said in a news release. “By helping to clear out this blight, we’re investing in the future of our citizens and our communities.”

The Cuyahoga Land Bank was approved for just under $9.5 million in grant funding for 428 properties. Most of them are in Cleveland, but the list also includes properties in Brecksville, Brooklyn, Cuyahoga Heights, East Cleveland, Euclid, Middleburg Heights, North Royalton, Parma Heights and Seven Hills.

Here address list for buildings on the demolition list from Cuyahoga and Lake counties. There were no buildings on the list announced Friday for Geauga, Medina, Lorain, Portage and Summit counties, but additional projects will be announced later.
