Molly Workman continued her Mid-Penn dominance with another record-setting performance.
State College’s Molly Workman has quite the resume. She’s won countless medals at the league, district and state levels, she’s the No. 1 ranked swimmer in the state and she’s committed to Virginia.“This is the most nervous I’ve ever been,” Workman said.
“I think it’s because it’s my senior year and my last one.” The Mid-Penn swim championships is one of Workman’s favorite meets of the year and it’s been bittersweet for her knowing that she’ll never compete on this deck again after this year. She overcame the nerves complied from the heat of the moment when she stepped on the starting block for the 50-yard free.It wasn’t the only record she broke on Friday. Workman later anchored the Lions as they set a meet record in the 200 free relay after posting a blistering 1:34.43. Last year, Workman expected to break the records she set during her sophomore year. This mindset has helped her continue to chase greatness as the accolades and hardware pile up. “You have to be dedicated and change your goals,” Workman said. “I broke and I already have a new goal. I can’t be complacent. You always have to be reaching for something.”Amir Tasker, Chambersburg rattle off Mid-Penn swim titles on Day 1 of championships
