The farmers who were affected by the armed encounter between the government forces and the Communists terrorists group (CTG) received cash assistance at Sitio Nagbanggaan, Sta. Margarita, Baggao, Cagayan, report said on Tuesday, March 14.

The Startroopers of the 5th Infantry Division handed over the assistance to 10 affected farmers through the 77th Infantry Battalion.Prior to the assistance from partner government agencies, the troops began to contribute from their personal money."We will not abandon you . We will protect you from the Communist Terrorist Groups and will secure you from any threats,” said MGen. Audrey Pasia.

“Through the whole-of-nation and whole-of-government approach, we will do our best to serve you and be the bridge in order to address your concerns," added MGen Pasia. It can be recalled that on Feb. 13, 2023, an armed encounter ensued between the 17th Infantry Battalion under the operational control of 77IB and the members of the CTG in Baggao, Cagayan.

The conflict resulted in the death of two CTG members and the capture of an abandoned wounded CTG member.
