The lineup also includes Spencer Wilding, who has played roles on “Doctor Who,” “Star Wars: Rogue One” and in three Harry Potter films.Wilding began his career as a kickboxer, which he hoped would pave the way to a career in on the big screen. And it did.
“To be part of the Harry Potter family, it was very special,” he said, adding that he gave the movie's young stars kickboxing lessons during the shoot. “I wasn’t the average actor on the set. I fell out of the kickboxing ring straight in front of the biggest cameras in the world.” Playing roles in those franchises naturally leads to invites to comic cons around the world. Wilding said he always enjoys taking part in them.
After his run in the San Antonio comic con, Hurley is sticking around for a few days. He will perform his one-man show “A Man With Standards,” at 7:30 p.m. Sunday and Aug. 9 at JazzTx at the Pearl. Tickets are available atThe show weaves together stories from his youth in the ’50s and ’60s with music from that era.
