Labour leader says incident is a test of Nigel Farage’s leadership and control over his party’s culture
made by Reform UK canvassers in front of an undercover reporter for Channel 4 News, saying the incident would prove a test of Nigel Farage’s leadership.leader condemned the comments by Andrew Parker and George Jones, who were filmed by the reporter while canvassing for the Reform leader in Clacton, where he is running to be MP. Parker was filmed calling the prime minister, Rishi Sunak, a “fucking ”, while Jones called the Pride flag “degenerate”.
He added: “You have to ask the question why so many people supporting Reform seem to be exposed in this particular way. It’s for a leader to change his or her party to make sure the culture is right and the standards are understood by everybody within the party.”Channel 4’s report showed Parker telling the reporter, who was posing as an activist: “I’ve always been a Tory voter, but what annoys me is that fucking we’ve got in. What good is he? You tell me, you know. He’s just wet.
In one doorstep conversation with a voter, Parker suggests shooting asylum seekers arriving in small boats. “You’ve got Deal, haven’t you,” he says, referring to the town in Kent. “The place near Dover. Army recruitment. Get the young recruits there, yeah, with guns on the fucking beach, target practice. Fucking just shoot them.”
Jones says later: “Our police officers will be paramilitaries, they won’t be police,” and that the party should “bring back the noose”.In a statement to Channel 4 News, Parker said Farage and Reform were not aware of his views, and he was sorry if they “have reflected badly on them and brought them into disrepute”.
