Starbucks has joined a handful of U.S. companies telling employees it will cover expenses if they need to travel out of state to obtain abortions, The New York Times reported.
May 16, 2022 -- Starbucks has joined a handful of U.S. companies telling employees it will cover expenses if they need to travel out of state to obtain abortions,In a memo to employees obtained by, Sara Kelly, the company’s vice president for partner resources, said she was “deeply concerned” when she read a leaked draft opinion from the Supreme Court saying a majority of justices think Roe v. Wade should be reversed.
The memo doesn’t say when the benefit will take effect. The memo says the company has about 240,000 employees nationwide.
