Eight years ago, Dave Filoni teased his future plans for Ahsoka Tano and Barriss Offee in the Star Wars universe. The former friends saw their relationship shattered when Offee framed Ahsoka for bombing the Jedi Temple in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, ultimately leading in the former's arrest and the latter leaving the Order. The Clone Wars was canceled shortly after the arc aired, leaving unfinished business between the two - but Filoni may have the chance to tie things up in Ahsoka.
During The Untold Clone Wars panel at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim 2015, Filoni fielded a question about the fate of Barriss Offee, a character he saved from death for later use. Barriss was originally going to blow herself up with the same nano-droids given to Letta Turmond, her accomplice in the bombing scheme. With Filoni preserving the character, she instead has the opportunity to appear in another story - which hasn't happened since 2013. A meeting between Ahsoka and Barriss didn't transpire in the remainder of The Clone Wars, nor did it happen in Star Wars Rebels, making Ahsoka a likely project to tell the story.
