Star Wars: why General Grievous' secret Clone Wars plan failed.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Warning! This article contains spoilers for Star Wars: Bounty Hunters #38 In one Star Wars story set in the Clone Wars era, General Grievous actually implemented a plan that would have elevated his droid army exponentially, and may have even been enough to defeat the Republic . However, for one very important reason, that plan failed before it was ever really put into action.
Beneath Count Dooku and the mysterious Darth Sidious, General Grievous was the leader of the Separatists’ droid army during the Clone Wars - something that became official following Dooku’s death in Episode III. Being a cyborg himself , General Grievous functioned perfectly in this role. Not only that, but Grievous’ burning hatred of the Jedi made him all the more motivated to see them dead.
The Followers Of Star Wars’ Ajax Sigma Didn’t Join General Grievous In a preview for Star Wars: Bounty Hunters #38 by Ethan Sacks and Davide Tinto, readers are taken back to the days of the Clone War. It was revealed that the cyborg Kligson knew and had dealings with both Ajax Sigma’s droid colony - later known as the Colony of the Second Revelation - and General Grievous.
This event is an integral moment in Star Wars history, especially given the current state of the established canon. The Dark Droids event is shining a light on droid sentience, and how forcing them to act against their will or to use them as puppets is no better than the enslavement of an organic life form. While it’s true some droids aren’t capable of that level of autonomy, the Second Revelation won’t stand for the mistreatment of droids no matter their level of self awareness.
While General Grievous does appear to be a droid himself and proved to be an effective and deadly leader of the Separatists' droid army, the only actual society of droids think of him as an abomination. For this reason, General Grievous’ plan to beat the Republic , failed miserably in this newly revealed chapter in Star Wars history.
