Cleveleys seafront has played a starring role in a key scene in the penultimate episode of Star Wars series, Andor. The beach had been given a galactical transformation for filming in 2021, with scenes featuring in previous episodes of the debut series of the hit Disney+ show.
The full series is now streaming, with scenes shot at the Fylde Coast seaside town, just up the road from Blackpool, featuring in episodes seven and 11.What happens in the Andor scenes filmed in Cleveleys Warning: Episode spoilers aheadViewers first caught a glimpse of a new-look Cleveleys seafront in episode seven, titled Announcement, when it was released on the streaming platform.
Andor receives the shocking news that his beloved mother has died and is next shown looking out to the rough sea as the sun sets, accompanied by his fellow prisoner escapee Ruescott Melshi. In one of the shots, if you looks closely, you can see the shadows of The Big One rollercoaster in the far distance.
The scene appears eerily similar to the shot in the Disney+ prequal, which shows Andor looking out to sea, with the beams of sunlight breaking through the thick clouds and bouncing off the angry sea. Fans have been taking to social media to discuss their striking similarities in the two scenes.
