An incredibly powerful Force move from Star Wars Legends’ Knights of the Old Republic video game has finally been confirmed in Star Wars canon.

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT An immensely powerful Force ability from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic has finally been brought into official Star Wars canon. Knights of the Old Republic was a video game set in the Star Wars universe released in 2003. The game takes place in the titular Old Republic era and details the Sith-Jedi war that dates back millennia in the Star Wars galaxy.

Since then, some elements of Knights of the Old Republic have been reintegrated into Star Wars canon. From the way Star Wars' KOTOR defined the Sith to characters like Darth Revan being referenced in the visual dictionary of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, several aspects of the Legends story have been canonized by extended canon materials.

In Legends, Battle Meditation was described as a Force power that allowed the user to enter a trance-like state. This allowed them to reach out to those around them also capable of using the Force and enabled everyone who was connected to perform at maximum efficiency. The ability allowed those involved to counter enemy attacks with ease meaning it was often used as part of large-scale conflicts to help Force-users win battles and, sometimes, even entire wars.

Have The Jedi Forgotten Battle Meditation By The Star Wars Prequel Trilogy? This ability being made canon by Star Wars: The High Republic begs the question of why it was not seen during the Star Wars prequel trilogy given that the former era is only around 200 years before the latter. The meta answer for this is simply that George Lucas did not have the concept of the idea at the time of production of the prequels, and it was only created by wider material after the fact.

It could be the case that the Jedi of the prequel era simply forgot the ability by the time of the Republic's end. Given that it originated in the Old Republic, thousands of years before even the High Republic, it makes sense that the ability faded into obscurity as the centuries went by.
