Star Wars is releasing a new Kylo Ren series.
The galaxy far, far away is heading back into Kylo Ren’s fractured psyche as Star Wars expands its comic universe once again. Marvel and Lucasfilm have officially announced, via a press release, STAR WARS: THE FALL OF KYLO REN, a five-issue limited series arriving this August.
The project reunites writer Charles Soule and artist Will Sliney for another deep dive into Ben Solo’s dark transformation. Building on Rise of Kylo Ren and Legacy of Vader, the new series promises to bridge critical gaps leading directly into The Rise of Skywalker. Set during Kylo’s reign as Supreme Leader of the First Order, the story will explore how he consolidates power, eliminates resistance, and fully embraces the persona that defined his final chapter in the sequel trilogy.
Kylo Ren Consolidates Power as Supreme Leader in New Series Following the events of Legacy of Vader, Kylo Ren returns to the First Order stronger, more disciplined, and more dangerous than ever. Now ruling without restraint, he asserts dominance over fractured leadership structures and enforces unity through intimidation and fear. His authority becomes absolute, reshaping the organization into a sharper instrument of conquest.
Within the First Order, internal conflict still simmers between Generals Hux and Pryde, both eager to manipulate Kylo’s volatile rule. Rather than tolerate their schemes, Kylo dismantles their ambitions with brutal efficiency. His approach leaves no room for dissent, forcing even the most calculating officers into submission under his increasingly authoritarian command structure. This arc positions Kylo as more than a symbolic figurehead.
It reframes him as an active architect of First Order strategy, shaping military direction while eliminating political instability. The series will reportedly show how his leadership style escalates tensions across the galaxy, setting the stage for the events that ultimately culminate in The Rise of Skywalker.
Charles Soule and Will Sliney Reunite for the Final Kylo Ren Chapter Writer Charles Soule returns to complete his long-form exploration of Ben Solo’s descent, describing the character’s story as expansive enough to demand multiple eras of storytelling. Having already chronicled Kylo’s origins in Rise of Kylo Ren, Soule now closes the trilogy of transformation with The Fall of Kylo Ren, completing a narrative arc years in the making.
Artist Will Sliney also rejoins the project, continuing the visual identity established in earlier installments. Sliney has emphasized that the response to the original series created a lasting creative momentum between him and Soule. Their collaboration aims to capture both the intensity of Kylo’s rule and the psychological weight of his internal conflict.
