Summary The Mandalorian & Grogu is set to truly break the mold in Star Wars, in more ways than one. The Mandalorian & Grogu is one of the most exciting projects of Star Wars' upcoming movies, not only because it is the first Star Wars movie to release in quite some time, but also because it will bring the beloved characters of The Mandalorian to the big screen.
Indeed, The Mandalorian is largely considered one of Star Wars' best TV shows, and many anxiously await the continuation of Din Djarin and Grogu's story. In fact, The Mandalorian season 3 ending nods toward the very exciting storyline that could be to come in the movie, from the possible inclusion of Grand Admiral Thrawn to an exploration of Din Djarin's role in the New Republic. However, The Mandalorian & Grogu will be so much more than just an exciting story . Rather, The Mandalorian & Grogu will be truly groundbreaking in the Star Wars franchise. Related Everything We Know About The Mandalorian & Grogu Movie The Mandalorian's story will continue with a Star Wars movie. Here's everything we know about the project, including cast, release, and timeline. The Mandalorian Movie Is The First Star Wars Film To Spin Out Of A TV Show Close The Mandalorian & Grogu marks a massive milestone in the Star Wars franchise as the very first TV show to make the move to the big screen. This truly is impressive, as it reveals just how popular The Mandalorian proved to be. Clearly, Star Wars is confident that Din Djarin, Grogu, and the rest of The Mandalorian characters have become popular enough that they will succeed at the box office. This also means a truly new era of Star Wars. Thus far, most Star Wars movies have centered on the Jedi and, specifically, the Skywalkers. In fact, even movies outside the Skywalker Saga, such as Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Solo: A Star Wars Story had deep ties to the Skywalkers, as Han Solo was directly linked to Luke and Leia in the original and sequel trilogies, and Rogue One provided essential context to the destruction of the Death Star. Now, though, The Mandalorian & Grogu will bring something brand-new to Star Wars. Although there will inevitably be some overlap between this story and the stories that have come before in the franchise, this movie will explore a story that has nothing to do with the Jedi versus the Sith. Moreover, The Mandalorian & Grogu will feature a bounty hunter and his adopted son; this really will be something never before seen in the franchise. The Mandalorian Movie's Arc Will Continue On The Small Screen Close Although a direct link between The Mandalorian & Grogu and the upcoming Ahsoka season 2 hasn't been confirmed, it feels nearly inevitable. After all, The Mandalorian & Grogu is confirmed to include Grand Admiral Thrawn, the villain who was unleashed upon the galaxy in the Ahsoka finale. Presumably, Thrawn will be the main villain of the movie, forming a connective thread between the Ahsoka show and The Mandalorian. Related Ahsoka Season 2: Story, Updates, Everything We Know Ahsoka season 2 has finally been confirmed by Star Wars, and the story is now in development. Here's everything we know about the project. In fact, The Mandalorian season 4 remains a possibility. Although it seemed The Mandalorian & Grogu was replacing the expected fourth season of the show, Star Wars has yet to confirm that the show isn't returning. Given that lack of confirmation, The Mandalorian & Grogu could transition back to the small screen in multiple ways. In addition to connecting to Ahsoka season 2, The Mandalorian season 4 could continue the movie's story. There's No Way Ahsoka Season 2 Isn't Setting Up The Mandalorian Movie's Sequel Thrillingly, each of these upcoming projects could be culminating in Dave Filoni's Mandalorian movie. Although little is known about Filoni's currently untitled Star Wars movie, the franchise did confirm that the movie is still in the works earlier this year. In light of this, it seems likely Filoni's upcoming Mandalorian movie will tie together The Mandalorian & Grogu and Ahsoka season 2. After all, Dave Filoni undoubtedly wants to see Ahsoka Tano—a character he created many years ago—come to the big screen. It seems likely Filoni's upcoming Mandalorian movie will tie together The Mandalorian & Grogu and Ahsoka season 2. This really is an exciting time in the Star Wars franchise, as The Mandalorian and Ahsoka both represent massive potential. The story details on The Mandalorian & Grogu, Ahsoka season 2, and Dave Filoni's upcoming Mandalorian movie remain sparse, and The Mandalorian season 4 isn't confirmed. Yet, there are innumerable directions the franchise could take these stories, all of them suggesting an exciting departure from the norm. Truly, The Mandalorian & Grogu will be a major step in the right direction for Star Wars as it moves away from the Skywalker Saga.
