A new Star Wars fanart series features Darth Vader, his dark legacy, and how he affected those closest to him in the galaxy far, far away.

A series of impressive Star Wars fanart features the shadows of Darth Vader's tragic legacy in the galaxy far, far away. It's no secret that Anakin Skywalker's corruption as a Dark Lord of the Sith massively impacted the course of the entire galaxy. However, Anakin's fall to the dark side also had a deeply personal impact on those he was closest to and knew him best.

Posted on Instagram by @starwars_art_archive from original artist @uzuriart, an incredible fanart series stars Darth Vader alongside several key Star Wars characters, each of them mourning the tragedy of Anakin's fall to the dark side. The images can be viewed below: SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Beginning with the first striking piece of art where Anakin Skywalker is in tears, his future as Darth Vader looms as a dark shadow. Additionally, the subsequent images from @uzuriart are quite similar where the Dark Lord takes the background for characters such as Padmé Amidala, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka Tano, and Luke Skywalker who were all deeply affected by Anakin's fall to the dark as Darth Vader.

In Obi-Wan's case, the Jedi Master was wracked with guilt over Anakin's fall for years during his exile on Tatooine as seen in the Obi-Wan Kenobi show. For almost a decade, Obi-Wan believed he had killed his own apprentice and the man who'd become his friend and brother. However, he'd come to discover Anakin's survival via cybernetics and life support armor, cementing his dark transformation as Darth Vader following their duel on Mustafar.

Similar guilt was felt by Ahsoka, Anakin's former apprentice. Having left the Jedi Order prior to The Clone Wars' end and preoccupied with the Siege of Mandalore during the events of Revenge of the Sith, Ahsoka wasn't there when Palpatine seduced Anakin to the dark side of the Force. Discovering the truth about Vader years later in Star Wars Rebels, Ahsoka refused to abandon her former master as they dueled on the Sith world of Malachor.
