An impressive StarWars fan poster from tilian_creative pits Darth Vader against Darth Maul, imagining what could happen if Anakin Skywalker battled Qui-Gon Jinn's Killer.
A new Star Wars fan poster imagines what a duel between Darth Maul and Darth Vader would look like. Vader has been an iconic villain ever since George Lucas’ Star Wars hit theaters in 1977. Darth Maul, on the other hand, appeared 22 years later in Lucas’ first prequel, Star Wars: Episode I- The Phantom Menace.
While Darth Vader and Darth Maul have never met on the big screen, Anakin Skywalker did have a run-in with Maul before he turned to the dark side. After Palpatine takes on Darth Maul as his apprentice, Maul tracks Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn on Tattooine, where Qui-Gon discovers Anakin had the highest midi-chlorian count he had ever seen. As they rush back to their ship, Maul flys in on The Bloodfin and attacks Qui-Gon, marking the first lightsaber duel in the prequel trilogy.
Obi-Wan Kenobi would be the most likely place for Maul to make a return. As mentioned above, it's unlikely Maul will have a big role in season 1, but reintroducing Maul in the finale would be one of the best ways to set up Obi-Wan Kenobi season 2 should Disney decide to continue the series. Shows like The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett have been pulling elements from the animated side of the franchise for the past few years.
