USS Enterprise in the Star Trek movies
Star Trek unveils its iconic new Rose Parade float to celebrate its 60th anniversary and history, from Star Trek: The Original Series to the newest Star Trek on Paramount+ series, Star Trek: Starfleet Academy.
On September 8, Star Trek Day, CBS Studios and Paramount Skydance announced expansive plans to mark Star Trek's 60th anniversary in 2026, which includes exciting new partnerships with LEGO and Do Something, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 4, and the premiere of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy season 1. CBS Studios unveiled its customized Star Trek 60 float at the Rose Parade on January 1 in Pasadena, California. Designed by artist John Ramirez and brought to life by the creatives at Artistic Entertainment Services . With the theme "Space Is For Everybody," Star Trek's 60th anniversary Rose Parade float celebrates the franchise's virtues of Hope, Exploration, and an inclusive future where everyone rises to the challenge to Be Bold. Check out the image of the Star Trek 60 float below: Star Trek's 60th Anniversary Rose Parade Float Explained Star Trek's 60th anniversary Rose Parade float is full of Easter eggs that mark iconic moments and places in the franchise. At the rear of the float, the USS Enterprise rises above strange new worlds, including Vasquez Rocks, the Los Angeles landmark filming location of many classic Star Trek moments. The center of the Star Trek 60 float has interactive transporters, while Starfleet Academy, the Golden Gate bridge, and San Francisco's cityscape honor the upcoming new Star Trek series, Star Trek: Starfleet Academy. In the new show, Starfleet Academy is both the school and a starship, the USS Athena. The front of the Star Trek 60 float recreates the legendary bridge of the Starship Enterprise commanded by Captain James T. Kirk . Star Trek actors will be stationed on the bridge and around the float, with the participating cast to be announced at a later date. Our Take On Star Trek's 60th Anniversary Rose Parade Float Star Trek's 60th anniversary Rose Parade float has been thoughtfully designed around Star Trek's beginnings and the next phase of its future. I'm glad to see the appropriate focus on Star Trek: The Original Series and Captain Kirk's Starship Enterprise, which are what started it all and remain the fundamentals of Star Trek. Naturally, promoting Star Trek: Starfleet Academy is paramount, pun intended. A great deal of hope rides on Star Trek: Starfleet Academy to be a hit and reassert the hopeful virtues of Star Trek for a new, younger audience, as well as longtime Star Trek fans who have followed the franchise for decades. It will be exciting to see which Star Trek actors will be aboard Star Trek's 60th anniversary Rose Parade float. I would expect a mix of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy's actors, maybe a face or two from Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, and some legendary names from classic Star Trek .
