Gul Dukat and Deep Space Nine
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Warning: contains spoilers for Sons of Star Trek #3!
Sons of Star Trek #3 is written by Morgan Hampton and drawn by Angel Hernandez. Throughout the book’s run, Jake has been in shock that, in this new universe, Dukat serves in Starfleet. After Jake and Dukat finish a shouting match, the two talk. With cooler heads prevailing, Jake explains to Dukat why he is so disturbed. Jake tells Dukat all his Prime counterpart did, including being a genocidal dictator.
Gul Dukat Is One of Star Trek's Best Villains--Bar None Dukat is a Multi-Layered Villain Who Fans Love to Hate Dukat, played by actor Marc Alaimo, once presided over Deep Space Nine during the Cardassian occupation of Bajor. When the Cardassians pulled out of Bajor, the station was handed over to the Federation. Yet Dukat did not want to give up so easily, especially when the Bajoran wormhole was discovered.
Jake’s recounting of Dukat’s crimes reinforces the horrors he perpetrated during Deep Space Nine’s run. Not only did Dukat damn the Cardassians, but he killed Jadzia Dax as well. When Dukat realized the game was up, he went mad and his later possession by the Pah Wraiths made him even more dangerous. Dukat’s legacy in the Star Trek universe is one of evil. Dukat is widely regarded as one of the franchise’s greatest villains, even above Khan and the Borg Queen in some fans' estimations.
