This Star Trek meme points out a valid hypocrisy.

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT A Star Trek meme found on Reddit perfectly illustrates why it's hypocritical to condemn Star Trek: Voyager's Captain Kathryn Janeway for her actions when other Starfleet officers have done the same and worse. As Captain of the USS Voyager, Janeway faced more challenges than most Star Trek captains after her ship ended up 70,000 light years from home in the Delta Quadrant.

One of Janeway's decisions remains particularly controversial even today and still inspires debate on Star Trek discussion boards. In Star Trek: Voyager season 2, episode 24, entitled "Tuvix," Lt. Tuvok and Neelix are merged into one being in a transporter accident. This new being, known as Tuvix , soon becomes an accepted member of Voyager's crew. However, Janeway ultimately makes the decision to separate Tuvok and Neelix again despite Tuvix's pleas for his life.

Janeway has long been criticized for this decision, despite the fact that many other Starfleet officers, including fan-favorite Klingon Worf have committed arguably worse offenses. Why Captain Janeway Faces More Scrutiny Than Other Star Trek Captains For decades, Captain Janeway was the only woman to appear as the lead of a Star Trek show, so it's not surprising that she faces more scrutiny than other Star Trek Captains.

Worf has killed as many as 27 Klingons, and while he had good reasons for those killings, he should still be beholden to the rules of Starfleet. Janeway also had reasons for her so-called murder of Tuvix, namely that she was saving the lives of Tuvok and Neelix, two important members of the Voyager crew who were unable to speak for themselves. Janeway faced an impossible choice and she did not make the decision lightly.
