Stanford head football coach David Shaw says he is resigning after the Cardinal finished the 2022 season with a 3-9 record, saying 'it's time.'
Shaw shared the decision following Saturday night's disappointing 35-26 loss to BYU, saying"it's time."
Shaw is a former Stanford football player and the winningest head coach in the Cardinal program's history, with a career mark of 96-54. He was honored with the 2017 Bobby Dodd National Coach of the Year award and led Stanford to three Pac-12 titles and two Rose Bowl victories in 12 seasons.He was scheduled to hold a news conference Monday to talk about his decision to step down.
