Wayne McCurrie, of FNB Wealth and Investments, commended Standard Bank on a good set of results and that it had not been affected materially. “Obviously Standard Bank is in the right countries and they haven’t suffered like MTN did in Nigeria because of the massive currency devaluation and that does not surprise me at all,” he said.

Standard Bank Reports Strong Profit Growth in 2023Standard Bank has seen a profit jump of 27% and a return on equity of 18.8% for 2023. The bank's net income grew to R177 billion, with headline earnings reaching R42.9 billion.
