Stagecoach has been ordered to pay out £100,000 in damages to a number of St Johnstone supporters caught up in a “harrowing” bus fire, the Perthshire Advertiser can reveal.
The bus firm has been praised for “admitting liability” and has since completed a “full and thorough” investigation into the incident. “I would like to acknowledge the response of Stagecoach because by swiftly admitting liability the coach firm helped prevent victims from suffering any further.” Panicked supporters, including young children, were forced to smash through the vehicle’s windows and jump almost 10ft to safety.
