The county sheriff’s office said it charged Dallas Bowling, 19, with second-degree murder and felony child abuse. Deputies responded to a report of an unconscious infant at a residence on Richland Road last Wednesday about 12:25 p.m., the sheriff’s office said. The boy was pronounced dead at a hospital, and Bowling, the father, has since been arrested. Court records show Bowling is being held at Rappahannock Regional Jail and will have a bond hearing on Nov. 1. Thaddeus Furlong, an attorney listed for Bowling, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
