Stacey Abrams , the two-time Democratic nominee for the governor of Georgia, did not rule out running again in an11Alive reporter Zach Merchant asked Abrams whether she will try to run for office again, to which Abrams called it “one of the tools in the toolbox.” When Merchant asked her if she is eyeing the seat that Gov. Brian Kemp will vacate in 2027, Abrams noted that while she is currently focusing on helping Vice President Kamala Harris win the White House, “all options are on the table.
Current Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger has compared her lack of a concession to former President Donald Trump’s claims that he won the 2020 election. Trump lost to President Joe Biden before urging his supporters to protest the certification of the results on Jan. 6, 2021.Abrams in her Sunday interview rejected the comparison.
Abrams added that she did what any American should do, which is to question rules “denying” voting rights.
