There has been a marked increase in stabbings and slashings in New York City in 2022, with 96 murders carried out with a sharp object so far in 2022, compared to 70 murders in 2021.

Meanwhile, arrests from stabbings and slashing are also up from last year, with 1,511 in 2021 compared to 2,139 so far this year. RELATED: "We know have some work to do but certainly I think we made some progress in November," New York City Transit President Richard Davey told FOX 5 NY.
