With its star player, Devion Smith, sidelined for most of the game due to a left shoulder injury, St. John's found a way to defeat Villanova 80-68. RJ Luis Jr. led the charge for the Johnnies, scoring a career-high 30 points, including 23 in the second half. Kadary Richmond also stepped up late, helping St. John's win for the ninth time in ten games.
The Johnnies' strong defense and sharp shooting from the free throw line (29-of-39) proved crucial in securing their third straight victory over Villanova. Aaron Scott added 12 points and Zuby Ejiofor contributed 11 points and nine rebounds
