St. Ignatius and St. Edward meet on Saturday in their annual rivalry game.
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- St. Ignatius disciplined one of it’s freshman football coaches Friday after it was revealed he sent an inappropriate text message regarding St. Edward and its players ahead of Saturday’s rivalry game between the two schools.
“At St. Ignatius high school, we uphold the values of sportsmanship, respect and integrity both on and off the field. The comments made by our coach do not reflect these values and fall short of the we expect from our staff members,” Wildcats athletic director Rory Fitzpatrick said in a statement acquired by cleveland.com “We deeply regret any embarrassment or discomfort that this incident may have caused you, your children and our extended school community.
