A man suspected of targeting storage unit facilities across St. George is in custody after reportedly being caught with stolen property, firearms, and meth.
The owner of a storage facility in St. George, Utah, confronted a suspicious man seen on surveillance footage, capturing a photo of his car and face. Police were able to use the photos to identify the man, who is now suspected to be involved in multiple storage unit burglaries around the city.
Other the past two months, storage units in the city have been repeatedly burglarized. According to police documents, surveillance footage at the various properties indicated that these crimes were committed by the same individual. Curtis, who had been following reports of similar burglaries on local community social media boards, said the posts heightened his awareness. He and his staff took extra precautions to monitor his facility, which he described as “very secure,” with over 60 cameras and a design that functions like a fortress.
Police documents state Brewer fled the scene in a white Honda Civic. Curtis was able to take a photo of his license plate and his face.
