CLEVELAND, Ohio — Brandon White rushed for 116 yards on 24 carries and scored four touchdowns Friday to lead host St. Edward to a 35-0 whitewashing of Canton GlenOak in a Division I, Region 1 quarterfinal playoff game at Lakewood High School.

The Eagles, 11-1 and the top seed in Division I, Region 1, next face Canton McKinley in a regional semifinal at a site to be announced by the OHSAA on Sunday. McKinley edged St. Ignatius 28-24, after scoring a touchdown late in the game to foil the Wildcats’ comeback bid. White scored three times on short runs in the first half, which ended with the Eagles on top, 21-0. The sophomore then opened the scoring in the second half by catching a 15-yard touchdown pass from Thomas Csayni. Josh Groudle added a 9-yard scoring run late in the third quarter, reaching the final score and putting the remainder of the game on a running clock. The last TD was set up by a 61-yard punt return by St. Edward junior Nick Variglotti.
