Sri Paus Fransiskus mendesak masyarakat antarabangsa untuk bekerja secara nyata menolak hukuman seksaan dan lebih menyokong para mangsa serta keluarga mereka.
Jaringan doa tersebut menyiarkan video pendek Sri Paus yang mempersembahkan intensi doa khusus setiap bulan.Hari Antarabangsa untuk Menyokong Mangsa Penyeksaan jatuh pada Jun 26. Meskipun hukuman seksaan dilarang oleh undang-undang antarabangsa dan sebahagian negara, penyeksaan itu masih dipraktikkan di seluruh dunia.
Setiap negara memiliki kewajiban untuk menyelidiki tuduhan penyeksaan, mendakwa atau mengekstradisi suspek, dan menghukum pesalah dengan hukuman yang mencerminkan keberatan kesalahan itu, katanya kepada Majlis Hak Asasi Manusia PBB pada Mac 2023.
