Fourth-year big man Charles Bassey made his preseason debut in Miami, seeing his first action since tearing his ACL in a G League game last December.
Bassey entered Tuesday’s game with 5:21 remaining in the third quarter. He logged 10 minutes, finishing with four points and four rebounds.
The best Spurs coverage in Alamo City, delivered to your inbox “I was a little bit nervous,” said Bassey, who spent part of his high school career at St. Anthony in San Antonio. “I didn’t know how I was going to feel or if I was going to play, but I felt good.” It has been a long road back for Bassey, who underwent surgery to repair his left knee on Dec. 15. He is likely to get a bit more run Thursday, as the Spurs conclude their preseason slate in Houston.
