Ange Postecoglou has answered a question on Chelsea's lavish spending - and whether he would do likewise at Tottenham.
Ange Postecoglou gave a surprising answer when asked about Chelsea's lavish spending - and explained whether he would do the same as Tottenham boss.boss has overseen an augmentation of the Spurs squad, bringing in the likes of James Maddison, Micky van de Ven and Brennan Johnson to add to the talent already at the club.
Todd Boehly has been in charge of Chelsea since May 2022, but even in that short space of time that he has been chairman of the Stamford Bridge club, around £1bn has been spent on bringing new players to the club.But Postecoglou, though he has of course spent money on players during his short time at Spurs, does not necessarily want the levels that Chelsea have spent to bring in fresh faces.
"If you get it all right then you've got a pretty strong case, but there's always a limit to every team. You can't have 24 world-class players. That will never work. It's been proven that it doesn't work."It's about having a squad that's balanced, guys that are committed to a cause.
"I don't think you can do that if you just get the 24 best players in the world. That's a headache I definitely don't want."
