"I'm at wits end now about this whole mess. I mean, it's like they don't care about us out here in Spring Valley," said James Firminger.SAN DIEGO — People living in one Spring Valley neighborhood said their roads are a mess and they want the county to fix them.Firminger lives near Ivanho and Omega Streets, where he and his neighbors told CBS 8 they've had to deal with cracks, potholes, and uneven pavement for years.
Firminger says cars often have to swerve to avoid certain holes, adding some have been damaged when they can't. "As soon as we have rainfall or a lot of traffic, they just come apart. You've got the same identical hole, usually they start to grow," said Firminger. Ivanho and Omega Streets are County-maintained roads. They are part of the 2,000 miles of roads under our care. Both streets were last sealed in 2002. Since then, road crews have performed periodic inspections and maintenance, including pothole repair, tree trimming, street sweeping and litter removal.
