McDonald’s fans are green with envy this holiday season, and not just from the Grinch’s mischievous ways! Buzz60’s Maria Mercedes Galuppo has the story.
Michelle Mann OZARK-Community improvement projects in Dale, Geneva, Henry, and Barbour counties made possible by “great partnerships” were highlighted on a tour hosted by the Southeast Alabama Regional Planning and Development Commission this week. Project highlights for Coffee and Covington counties are planned next.
SEARP&DC Executive Director Scott Farmer hosted the multi-county tour to highlight several federal and state investments that have benefited local community projects. SEARP&DC, created in 1969, promotes quality of life projects for the citizens of Barbour, Coffee, Covington, Dale, Geneva, Henry and Houston Counties. Some of the departments under the SEARP&DC umbrella include Community and Economic Development, Head Start, Senior Aides, and Wiregrass Transit.
“We really appreciate the support from our representatives from state and federal offices,” said Farmer. “We wanted to use these tours to let them view firsthand how that money has been invested and the resulting outcomes. On various stops on the tour through Dale, Henry, Geneva, and Barbour counties were Ragin Berry and John Ferguson from U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville’s office; Melanie Hill from U.S. Sen.
