Spider-Man's returning franchise has managed to break a huge record that the Marvel Cinematic Universe still has to achieve to this day, and it just goes to show how the hero is easily the comic book giant's most beloved.

Keeping in line with that are Spider-Man's animated series, which have explored both classic and more modern takes on the character, with hits like The Spectacular Spider-Man, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, and more. While Peter Parker does not star in one of the MCU's Disney+ TV shows, the streaming service has seen a Spider-Man series accomplish something the shared universe has never done. Spider-Man's Returning TV Show Broke A Record The MCU Has Yet To Achieve Spidey and his Amazing Friends is a Marvel animated series aimed at young audiences, with the show currently airing its fourth season. While this might not be the Spider-Man project adults watch, the show is easily one of Marvel's most popular to date. Spidey and his Amazing Friends has had spinoffs, specials, and has already been renewed for seasons 5 and 6. Last December, The Walt Disney Company revealed its 2025 Billion Hours Streamed Club, which confirmed just how popular the Spider-Man TV show is. Not a single MCU movie or TV show was present in the coveted Disney+ list, with the only Marvel title present being Spidey and his Amazing Friends. Other projects on the list include The Mandalorian, How I Met Your Mother, Moana, and more. When it comes to Spider-Man, it has become clear that Spidey and his Amazing Friends reigns supreme on Disney+, even though the streaming service features multiple Peter Parker projects not just aimed at young audiences. Later in 2026, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 2 will drop on the streamer. On July 31st, Tom Holland's Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters. How Can The MCU Match The Spider-Man TV Show's Record? Something that helps Spidey and his Amazing Friends is the fact that the show has almost four complete seasons on Disney+, nearing a 200-episode count as season 4 continues to release new episodes. Marvel Studios has no project that can compete with that. Most MCU TV shows have a single season, with Loki's two seasons consisting of 12 episodes and What If...?'s three seasons of 26 episodes. That said, Marvel is starting to move towards multi-season shows, with Daredevil: Born Again season 2 premiering this year and season 3 in 2027. That opens the door for these new MCU series to have enough in them to crack the Disney+ Billion Hours Streamed Club.
