Peter Parker's turn as a villain in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man was brief, but sets the character up for one of his most exciting arcs in years.

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Warning: Spoilers for The Amazing Spider-Man #35!

The obvious answer to the questions left by Spider-Man's recent villain arc is, of course, a redemption arc. Imbued with the the sins of the Green Goblin, the title character spent the last few issues of The Amazing Spider-Man on the darkest run of his career – and while Peter Parker was saved from the evil within, he must now reckon with what he did, and what he could have done.

The Amazing Spider-Man #35 concludes Peter Parker's night of terror, as Norman Osborn is finally able to undo the damage done to Peter, with help from Kraven the Hunter.Peter Will Use Spider-Man To Work Through His Guilt Kraven, in a sinister partnership with Queen Goblin, is actually the one who infected Peter with the wickedness that once befell Norman Osborn. Kraven would quickly regret this, as he is one of the people on Peter's hit list.

Even though Peter understands at the end of Amazing Spider-Man #35 that he would never do such heinous acts if not under the influence of the Green Goblin, he remains unnerved by the fact some part of him gave in to the Goblin's madness After all, such a level of guilt has always been a part of Spider-Man's M.O. He will always find a way to blame himself for what he cannot prevent. The most recent example is the guilt he felt for his role in Ms. Marvel's death.

Spider-Man Is Ready To Redeem Himself Despite the circumstances, and the context for his actions, Peter Parker will not take his behavior while Goblinized lightly; as a villain, Spider-Man was a jerk at best, and a murderous sociopath at worst.
