Here's how the latest 'Spider-Man' movie is faring among audiences:
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 – 7.9The point is, even if these numbers slip a little, the scores are like almost nothing the MCU has ever seen before, and a rare instance where fans and critics fully agree with one another. Ticket sales are the highest since any MCU movie besides Endgame, and it looks to be the biggest theatrical hit during the pandemic by far .
It’s not a huge surprise as to why Sony, Disney and Tom Holland have all committed to more Spider-Man movies going forward, the thought being a new trilogy to move on from the “Homecoming” era and probably put Peter Parker in college, with the door open to a bunch of new heroes and villains, some of whom may be teased in No Way Home itself .
It’s kind of amazing that through all the leaks and takedowns and high expectations, Spider-Man: No Way Home still manages to deliver at this level. It speaks to the MCU’s ability to still produce classics over a decade since its inception, and it does not show signs of slowing down any time soon.
