Spider-Man: Brand New Day is projected to earn $180-$190 million domestically on opening weekend, making it 2026's biggest opener despite missing IMAX due to Nolan's The Odyssey. Forecasts place it as the second-highest in the Spider-Man franchise and near Doctor Strange's $187M debut.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is generating significant buzz as the latest installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Spider-Man series, starring Tom Holland. According to industry projections cited by Deadline, the film is expected to earn between $180 million and $190 million during its domestic opening weekend.

If these predictions hold, the movie would achieve the biggest domestic opening of 2026, despite not having an IMAX release. This absence is due to Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey securing an exclusive four-week IMAX run, forcing Sony and Marvel to rely on other premium large-format screens.

However, analysts suggest the lack of IMAX will not substantially hinder the film's box office performance. Should it open within the forecasted range, Brand New Day would become the second-highest domestic opener in the Spider-Man franchise, trailing only Spider-Man: No Way Home's $260 million record from 2021, which itself was behind Avengers: Endgame's $357.1 million benchmark.

The film is also projected to surpass Toy Story 5's $159.6 million debut while finishing near but below Deadpool & Wolverine's $211.4 million and roughly matching Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' $187 million opening. The movie is anticipated to strongly attract males under 25. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the MCU entry features Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, Sadie Sink, Michael Mando, Liza Colón-Zayas, and Marvin 'Krondon' Jones III.

New promotional material teases a massive battle involving Spider-Man, the Hulk, and the Punisher, and confirms three new power upgrades for the web-slinger. Meanwhile, a beloved actor from previous films will not appear, despite cameo rumors. The broader entertainment landscape includes Antonio Banderas in the shark thriller Above & Below, a new trailer for the vampire horror Feed, and ongoing discussion about Disney's live-action Moana potentially becoming a box office disappointment.

Additionally, the Russo brothers' AGBO Films is partnering with Warner Bros. for a reimagining of the 1993 film Free
