When it comes to the movie, Deadline notes that Sony Pictures is “taking a lot of tender loving care” with the project. Sony has “no plans for that threequel to hit the 2025 release calendar.
The news comes amidst a litany of other rumors circulating around the project and its status. Earlier this year, a report from The InSneider’s Jeff Sneider suggested that the film had been nearly scrapped and forced to restart, resulting in what would be a lengthy delay. While writer and producer Christopher Miller would debunk those rumors, future reports suggested that Beyond the Spider-Verse was not close to being finished just yet.
